Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • ¼ cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and grease it lightly.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in olive oil until soft (about 3–4 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds before removing from heat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Fold in the sautéed onion and garlic mixture.
  5. Mix in breadcrumbs and ground turkey gently until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  6. Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. For the glaze, combine ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl and brush it over the meatloaf.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45–60 minutes or until an internal temperature of at least 165°F is reached. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
