  • 2 tablespoons frying oil
  • 7 ounces cremini mushrooms
  • 1/4 head broccoli
  • 1 large carrot (or 2 medium)
  • 2 green onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1-inch piece of ginger
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 24 oz package store-bought dumplings (frozen chicken gyoza)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seed oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Slice mushrooms, chop broccoli into florets, cut carrot into matchsticks, and grate garlic and ginger.
  2. In a large pot, heat oil over high heat. Sauté mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, and white parts of green onions until softened.
  3. Add grated garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes; cook until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for five minutes.
  5. Add dumplings to the pot and cook according to package instructions.
  6. Season with soy sauce and toasted sesame oil; garnish with remaining green onions before serving.
