  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth (divided)
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons cold water
  • 2 Tablespoons sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Green onion (chopped for garnish)
  • Chili garlic sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken dry and cut into bite-sized pieces; season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat; cook chicken for 6-8 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  3. Deglaze the pan with chicken broth; add garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.
  4. In a bowl, combine pineapple juice, soy sauce, remaining broth, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar; pour into the pan and simmer.
  5. Mix cornstarch with cold water; add to the pan while stirring continuously until sauce thickens.
