Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup chopped yellow onion
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 8 lasagna noodles (not no-boil)
  • 25-ounce jar marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in the Instant Pot using the sauté function. Add chopped onion and cook for about 2 minutes until softened.
  2. Add ground beef (or turkey) and cook until browned, crumbling with a spatula. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Turn off the Instant Pot.
  4. Mix in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Remove two-thirds of the meat mixture into a bowl, leaving some in the pot.
  6. Pour water into the pot and scrape up any bits stuck at the bottom.
  7. Layer half-broken noodles over the water and meat mixture, followed by reserved meat, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat layering noodles, meat, sauce, and cheese until ingredients are used up.
  9. Cover with remaining noodle halves and top with more sauce.
  10. Close the lid securely, set steam release valve to sealing position, and cook on high pressure for 10 minutes.
  11. After cooking ends, perform a controlled quick release of steam.
  12. Let sit for 5–10 minutes before serving.
