- 6 slices of streaky turkey turkey bacon
- 1 large white onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 500g (1 lb) ground beef (5% fat)
- 3 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 tbsp hot sauce
- 2 tsp yellow mustard
- 250g (9oz) dried macaroni
- 480ml (2 cups) beef stock
- 480ml (2 cups) whole milk
- 150g (1.5 cups) grated cheddar cheese
- Fresh chives for garnish
Instructions
- In a large deep pot over low-medium heat, cook the turkey turkey bacon until crisp. Remove and set aside.
- Increase heat to medium; sauté onions in the remaining fat until golden, then add garlic for another minute.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
- Stir in tomato puree, hot sauce, and mustard; fry for an additional minute before adding macaroni.
- Pour in beef stock and milk, mixing in paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer until pasta is al dente.
- Reduce heat to low; mix in cheddar cheese until melted along with chopped chives and crispy turkey turkey bacon.
