Ingredients
For the Shrimp:

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 tbsp butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

½ tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

Juice of ½ lemon
For the Orzo:

1 tbsp olive oil

1 small shallot or onion, finely chopped

1½ cups orzo pasta

3 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth

1 tbsp butter

Zest of 1 lemon

¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional)

2 tbsp chopped parsley

Extra lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Shrimp

Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Toss in shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

Cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.

Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp and transfer to a plate. Cover to keep warm.
Step 2: Sauté the Aromatics
6. In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed.
7. Sauté chopped shallot or onion for 2 minutes until soft and translucent.
Step 3: Toast and Simmer the Orzo
8. Add the orzo to the pan and stir for 1–2 minutes to toast slightly.
9. Pour in the broth, bring to a simmer, and reduce heat to low.
10. Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
Step 4: Finish the Dish
11. Stir in butter, lemon zest, and Parmesan if using.
12. Return shrimp to the pan and toss gently to combine.
13. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or lemon if needed.
Step 5: Serve and Garnish
14. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with extra lemon wedges.
