Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray or oil.
Step 2: Cook the Taco Meat
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef.
Cook until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Drain excess grease, then add taco seasoning and ⅔ cup water.
Stir well and simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
Mix in black beans if using, and remove from heat.
Step 3: Assemble the Taco Cups
Place one wonton wrapper in each muffin cup, pressing it down to form a base.
Add a small spoonful of taco meat into each cup, then sprinkle with cheese.
Top with a second wonton wrapper, pressing down lightly.
Add more taco meat and finish with another sprinkle of cheese.
Step 4: Bake to Perfection
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
Carefully remove from the oven and let cool for 2–3 minutes.
Step 5: Top and Serve
Remove taco cups from the muffin tin and place on a serving platter.
Top with your favorite fresh toppings—like sour cream, lettuce, or salsa.
Serve warm and enjoy with lime wedges or tortilla chips on the side.
Notes
Use Wonton Wrappers – They crisp up beautifully and hold their shape well.
Don’t Overfill – Prevent overflow and ensure each cup holds together.
Get Creative – Swap meat for beans, use ground turkey, or go vegetarian.
Make Ahead – Cook the meat ahead of time and assemble just before baking.
Double the Batch – These go fast, so consider making two trays!
