Ingredients
- 8 cups brioche bread (cut into 1-inch cubes)
- 1 ½ cups fresh peaches (diced)
- 2 cups half & half
- 8 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (divided)
- Optional: caramel sauce, whipped cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish with 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
- Layer half of the bread cubes in the dish, followed by half of the diced peaches. Repeat layers.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, half & half, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
- Pour egg mixture over layered bread and peaches slowly to allow absorption; press down gently.
- Drizzle remaining melted butter on top.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate for at least four hours or overnight.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes; then uncover and bake for an additional 30 minutes until golden and set.
- While baking, prepare caramel sauce by melting butter and adding brown sugar; whisk in half & half and vanilla until smooth.
- Serve warm drizzled with caramel sauce.
