- 16 oz loaf of French bread
- 3 ¾ cups whole milk
- 1 ½ cup heavy cream
- 7 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cup sugar
- Optional zest of ½ an orange
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the French bread into one-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together whole milk, heavy cream, eggs, vanilla extract, sugar, and optional orange zest until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes and gently toss to coat. Let sit for about 15 minutes.
