Ingredients

- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, softened for frosting
- 1–2 tbsp water, milk or more apple cider for frosting
- 1 tsp vanilla for frosting
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon for frosting
- pinch of nutmeg for frosting
- 2 cups powdered sugar for frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, mix together oat flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
- In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, applesauce, apple cider, vanilla extract, and eggs until smooth.
- Gently combine the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just mixed; some lumps are fine.
- Fill each muffin tin section about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 20–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cupcakes to cool before frosting with spiced buttercream made by mixing softened butter with powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.
