Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for a little kick)

Optional for Serving:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps them get extra crispy.

  2. In a large bowl, drizzle the chicken with olive oil.

  3. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

  4. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the chicken thighs, rubbing it in evenly on all sides.

Step 2: Preheat the Air Fryer

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes.

  2. This ensures the chicken starts cooking immediately and crisps up nicely.

Step 3: Air Fry the Chicken Thighs

  1. Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin side down, in a single layer.

  2. Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 12 minutes.

  3. Flip the thighs over so the skin side is up, and cook for an additional 10–12 minutes.

  4. Check the internal temperature—it should be at least 165°F (74°C). If needed, cook for another 2–3 minutes.

Step 4: Rest and Serve

  1. Let the chicken thighs rest for 5 minutes before serving.

  2. Garnish with chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon if desired.

  3. Serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes

Dry Chicken Thoroughly – Patting dry ensures a crispy skin.
Don’t Overcrowd – Give each thigh space for air circulation. Cook in batches if necessary.
Use a Meat Thermometer – Ensures perfectly cooked, juicy chicken every time.
Adjust for Boneless Thighs – If using boneless thighs, reduce cooking time by about 5 minutes.
Customize the Seasonings – Add your favorite spice blends like Cajun, Italian, or BBQ.
